At the 8th ÖRAV Education Festival, we reached every region of Türkiye. Setting out with the motto “It Happens with Teachers!”, we shared unforgettable moments together with our teachers.
On November 26–27, during the first day of our festival, we hosted distinguished guests in a live broadcast open to audiences across Türkiye. Moderated by actor and writer Mehmet Auf, the broadcast featured Prof. Dr. Servet Özdemir from the Faculty of Education at Başkent University, Andreas Schleicher, Director for Education and Skills at the OECD, and Erdal Yıldırım, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Education Reform Initiative. They discussed the power teachers hold as leaders of change from different perspectives.
In our teacher panel, moderated by Elvan Tongal, one of ÖRAV’s part-time educators, Gizem Ok Uluçay from the Teacher Network, Sedat Çiftçi from KODA, and Dr. Selda Obalar from ÖRAV shared their professional development journeys. The live broadcast was viewed more than 3,000 times.
This year, we brought a total of 4,600 teachers together through the ÖRAV Education Festival. On the second day of the festival, we met with 1,200 teachers through in-person workshops and cultural tours held in nine cities.
Through activities enthusiastically led by our part-time educators in Diyarbakır, Mersin, Uşak, Zonguldak, and Trabzon, we organized workshops focused on teachers’ professional development; we thought together, created together, and celebrated Teachers’ Day as one.
As part of our collaboration with the Foundation for the Promotion of Cultural Awareness, we organized cultural tours with the participation of teachers in Antalya, Çanakkale, Kars, and Istanbul. Through these activities, we aimed both to support teachers’ personal development and to collectively explore initiatives that can foster cultural awareness and sensitivity among students.
