Peaceful Communication
In this training, we worked with Turkish and Syrian teachers working in Temporary Education Centers in Hatay. The goal of this training was to raise awareness of peaceful communication methods and practices among teachers from different cultures and to develop practices where teachers from different cultures can meet on a common ground for the best interest of the child.
Our goal was to improve the communication skills of participating teachers, identify biases and stereotypes that lead to discrimination and labeling in the school environment, help them pick up tips for creating a positive classroom environment that is sensitive to children's rights, improve their skills in preventing and managing discrimination, as well as help them gain basic knowledge of the concepts of effective supervision and mentoring for a culture of cooperation.
The pilot phase of the training was conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education.
