Waiting Child

As part of the Waiting Child project, led by the Youth Re-autonomy Foundation of Turkey and implemented in partnership with the Koruncuk Foundation and Networkcope, we provided training for 113 teachers on November 2016.

The Waiting Child project was developed to reduce the number of school dropouts. This is the biggest problem that children whose parents are in prison face in school, as they are labeled by their classmates, other students' parents, or teachers, and are more likely to be exposed to physical and verbal violence by other children. The training program we developed for the project aimed to make participating teachers aware of the prejudice and discrimination that children whose parents are in prison face in their educational lives.
